Messorem Tap Feature

5:00 PM - 9:00 PM | West Asheville, NC

Thursday, March 13, 2025

We are stoked to invite you to a tap takeover with Montréal’s excellent Messorem Bracitorium, one of the most in-demand and beloved new breweries in Canada, on Thursday, March 13th. You can also meet some of the Messorem team!

Messorem is a craft brewery project created by three friends — Marc-André Filion, Sébastien Chaput and Vincent Ménard — and opened in 2019 in the south-west of Montréal, Quebec, Canada.

All three are beer aficionados, with Ménard bringing technical skills with a brewing degree, an internship at the exceedingly popular brewery Auval, and professional brewing experience at Les Trois Mousquetaires.

The group met in the early 2000s Montreal’s underground metal music scene, and each member has distinct strengths that together can be linked with the creation of a brewing company, a passion that has inhabited them for several years. For them, Messorem Bracitorium is a way to bridge the gap between their hobby (beer) and everyday work with friends.

The name translates (from Latin) to “the Grim Reaper’s brewery” — “Messorem” is a Latin word meaning ‘reaper’, ‘mower’, ‘harvester’, and “Bracitorium” is for ‘brewery’.

Messorem specialize in hoppy and sour beers, with a new barrel-aging program taking place. Beers are brewed to strict criteria, and the taste, mouthfeel and appearance of Messorem’s beers are very precise.

You’re going to love them as much as we do.

Here’s what we’ll have on tap:

Il Était Une Fois : Sécheresse (Once Upon a Time: Drought)

Light lemony and spicy touch from the hops, malty contribution reminiscent of fresh bread and crunchy cereals. Once Upon a Time: Drought is back to quench our thirst! A Helles Lager that is suitable for all circumstances!

Triple Statim Finis

A hazy triple IPA with Citra, Mosaic, Galaxy, Ella hops.

Écoulement Des Vies (Flow of Lives)

Specialty Dry-Hopped Wild Ale. A blend of foeder beers and wild ales aged in barrels with a Mosaic dry-hop.

Vivre Le Jour (Live the Day)

Specialty BA Stout. Blend of two stouts aged in Willet Bourbon barrels for 32 months and 34 months with an addition of brazil nuts and vanilla from Brazil
