Keepsake Brewery Tap Takeover

Keepsake Brewery Tap Takeover

6:00 PM - 10:00 PM | West Asheville, NC

Thursday, June 13, 2024

We’re HYPE to bring Gaston County’s newest brewery to The Whale.

Keepsake is a small family brewery in Gastonia, North Carolina. It is owned and run by Bobby Myers and Katherine Long, along with their “little helper”, Gumbo the Catahoula leopard dog. Bobby has a traditional education in brewing from VLB in Berlin, Germany. Bobby has previously worked at Russian River, Resident Culture, and Legion Brewing.

They produce Helles, Pils, Black Lager, Pale Ale, and a few seasonals. They only make the beer they love to drink, which is made with the highest quality raw materials. They perform cold fermentations and extend cold maturation. Our beers are naturally carbonated, unpasteurized, unfiltered, and do not contain clarifying agents.

What’s On Tap?

  1. Heartsease: Unfiltered Helles Lager. Supremely balanced and endlessly drinkable.
  2. Garden Party: Unfiltered Pils. Floral, herbal, spice, and citrus aromatics via the use of Hallertau Mittelfruh hops
  3. Little Helper: Inspired by the hoppy Pale Ales of Belgium. Brewed with German and American Hops. Cold-conditioned for multiple weeks.
  4. Vesper: Not a Černé Pivo or Schwarzbier. This San Francisco-Style Black Lager is inspired by “Death & Taxes” from Moonlight Brewing in Santa Rosa, California. Despite its deep black color, Vesper is light-bodied and easy drinking with notes of coffee, chocolate, and roasted malt.
  5. Marigold: Bavarian-Style Weissbier (aka Hefeweizen). Brewed with loads of wheat, a three-step mash, and just a handful of hops. Marigold is highlighted by a classic yeast strain that delicately balances notes of clove, banana, and vanilla. Cloudy and pale gold with a persistent fluffy white head.
