We’re seeking donations of gently used and clean clothes, books, knickknacks, small furniture, etc from the Haw Creek and Asheville community for our Community Yard Sale! Bring them to The Whale Outpost during business hours until May 24th!
The yardsale will take place on Saturday, May 25th from 4-7pm. Proceeds of all the items sold will go to our nonprofit of the month 12 Baskets Cafe.
Sip and shop, support the community, and hang out with neighbors. It’s a Saturday well spent. You may even find some hidden treasures.
About 12 Baskets:
You are invited to 12 Baskets Café, where community and compassion come together. Mondays and Thursdays from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM they’re open for sit-down meals. Every Tuesday and Friday grab to-go meals and assorted groceries from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Join them for coffee, conversation, and community in our garden beginning at 10:00 AM on the days they are open.
Everyone is welcome to share in the abundance of rescued food at 610 Haywood Rd, West Asheville.
The cafe is a gathering space for people from all walks of life – those experiencing physical hunger, those seeking a sense of belonging, and those eager to contribute. At API, they hunger for community, and the cafe reflects this shared feast of food and good company in a “by-donation” style.
Contribute in ways that resonate with you, whether through cash or monthly donations, helping with dishwashing or serving, or assisting in post-lunch cleanup. Everyone is greeted warmly and invited to the table. Donations are appreciated to cover rent and materials.
At 12 Baskets Cafe, they receive donations of high-quality, surplus food from local businesses and the food service industry. These donations, which would otherwise go to waste, are collected by API companions and repurposed for sharing.
There’s an opportunity to support 12 Baskets in at The Whale West Ashevile on May 3rd as well.
