Sierra Pale Ale & Pet Adoption for Asheville Beer Week

event graphics 8

We are celebrating Asheville Beer Week with Sierra Nevada and Mountain Pet Rescue.

We’ll be featuring Pale Ale firkins, Summerfest, Southern Gothic, Asheville Beer Week Saison, American Black Ale, and classic Pale Ale 16oz cans. We are excited to be partnering with this craft beer pioneering brewery. Since Ken Grossman started Sierra Nevada with a hand-built brewhouse and the odds stacked against him. In 1980, that patchwork of pipes, pumps, and tanks began making beers that forever changed the course of American craft brewing.

Mountain Pet Rescue will be in the house with some cuddleable and adoptable pets. Let’s find them all some homes! Mountain Pet Rescue is a foster-based animal rescue in Asheville, NC. Built on the love and support from countless fosters, volunteers, and donors, they’ve saved thousands of lives since their inception in 2017. We are stoked to have them here at The Whale.

Expect a fun raffle to benefit the animals at the pet rescue too!

What Is A Firkin?

A firkin is a unit of measure equivalent to one quarter of a barrel, 72 pints, or 9 imperial gallons. Firkin is also a type of keg that houses cask-conditioned ale, or beer that has been naturally fermented and carbonated by its resident yeast. Expect something a little bit different than the Pale Ale you are used to.

It’s going to be a great time so come out and see us. For more events at The Whale, check out our events page.
